The Bottom Line

Agreeing a realistic budget for your project is an important step in the design process.

We will strive to bring added value to your project and make best use of your budget, but it is also important to be realistic about what is feasible considering market conditions and available funds to achieve the desired result. If you require particular finishes, fittings or a specific kitchen we can discuss this in detail.

Project scope, builders rates and general inflation can all add to your costs. As a project develops so do the client’s ideas. Changes to the substantial elements of the design when the construction has begun inevitably increases the cost of the works and delays the project. It’s worth taking the time at design stage to understand the proposal and if you have any doubts or questions about what is being proposed be sure to put them to us.

Architects fees can be charged at a percentage of the overall cost of the build, at an agreed hourly rate or at an agreed lump sum which will be billed in stages usually to coincide with statuary approvals. We can advise on the appointment of specialist consultants if required to form part of the design team depending on your specific project. Ultimately the service can be tailored to suit your particular needs.
